Hi, I have been looking for options for my 84 year old mother. She has an iPad and a Canon printer that worked via AirPrint in her house. Recently she moved to an apartment in an assisted living building. The building has wifi and internet as part of the service. However when I put the printer on the wifi network I can not see it from the iPad. It seems that they are restricting ports or somehow preventing the two devices from talking. I am trying to avoid a situation where my mother would need to switch wifi networks on the iPad to connect to an adhock wifi in order to print. Does anyone know if you can print via a USB-C cable plugged into the iPad Pro? Also I am open to any other ideas. she currently has an older iPad but the plan is to replace that soon and if an iPad Pro will help the printing problem I will look in that direction. Thanks

First thing that comes to mind is using a wifi router to bridge between the existing wifi and the two personal devices. It's what I typically do when I travel, using a portable wifi box like a RavPower FileHub to connect to hotel wifi networks and have my own devices share that single connection.

I'd also recommend. Great minds think alike! :)
