Only had the new iPad Pro 11 2020 for a week and my battery has always been terrible.
This cannot be normal can it?!

It seems that the Brightness is high. Maybe you can lower it a bit?

What is this app hayu that consumes 54 % of the battery?

It’s a tv app that was only for 37 minutes yesterday it didn’t take 54%

According to iOS it did :) (in the screenshot you provided). There are two options here:

  1. Either the overall time is rather short and those 37 minutes are 54 % of the time
  2. The app uses battery in the background and it is not just those 37 minutes
And sorry it is first one as it is written that the screen time was 55 minutes and there is no screen off. So yes indeed this 54 % is the 37 minutes usage.

I would really try to lower a bit the brightness.

Hello friend,

Don’t worry about the brightness - I’ll tell you what it is. It’s the bleeping iPadOS 13.4.1 ! Since I’ve updated battery life has been terrible on my iPad Pro. Browsed for 10 minutes this morning lost 9% of the battery. I’d say just hold tight and wait for a fix in the next update... or the next after next.

Also my iPad never used to get this hot. Impossible to hold it was perfectly fine before. I hate Apple sometimes..

Are we going to ignore the fact that one of those apps consumed 54% of the battery?

Yes and no.... no matter how badly the app was written IT CAN’T HAVE drained the battery that much without any flaws within the OS itself. You’re forgetting how powerful iPad Pro supposed to be...

I’d be careful drawing conclusions from one device to somebody else’s. We don’t know many factors and as the OP basically provided not much information apart from the screenshot, one can but guess.
