Ive been on the fence about buying an iPad Pro for the last couple of weeks.

One retailer is showing it on sale for$150 off ($650 for the 256gb WiFi 10.5)

Do the deals come any lower than that? Or is it worth making a “spontaneous” purchase now?

Thats the same deal microcenter had around Christmas when i got my 12.9. I waited for weeks to see the best price...so don’t think you will get better than that. And if i remember correctly that was the lowest i could find on my last ipad as well.

$150 off is about cheap as I have seen it. I just bought my 10.5 Pro Space Grey 32 GB WiFi for $499 from Microcenter last weekend and couldn't be happier. Honestly, I think that is what Apple should price them at from the beginning. They would sell a lot more that way. I guess it is Apple though and they can charge a premium price.

I have a feeling the new Pros that are coming out in 2018 are going to have a starting price of AT LEAST $650, if not higher. I decided I would rather have a $150 off on the current model rather than wait to pay full price. The Face ID is not a big deal to me as I don't have a security code on my iPad since it sits at home most of the time and I don't have any sensitive information on it. Plus I still like the finger ID better.

I paid like $800 for my air 1 128gb cellular. So the “pro” prices are not that crazy to me. Not that I wouldn’t like them to be cheaper...but yea that’s apple.

The only other deal I remember reading about here was the 12.9" 64gb with the Pencil starting at (I think) $700-750?

OP, there might be some better deals around Presidents Day (if you're in the U.S.) so I am sure what to tell you. If it was me I'd wait on potential sales, but if you want it now, go for it.

Isn't $800 discounted? Iirc, MSRP was $800 128GB WiFi only and $930 128GB LTE.

I paid $499 for my 64GB 10.5" Pro around Christmas. Definitely worth it to me. I don't have the pencil since I'm still contemplating if I really need it. After selling my Mini 4, I only paid $300 out of pocket after all was said and done.

I have replaced paper notes with the pencil, and also use it for pdf markups. Drawing is fun to screw around with... there has always been something about actually writing something down rather than typing it out. And the pencil experience imo is on par actual pen and paper.
