Hi! I dont have a tech background, so please pardon if I make a mistake. I have a Ipad pro 9.7 inch 2016 model A1673 which just stopped working one day. It wont turn on, I tried many tricks ( other than opening up the Ipad) that was recommended by online forums but nothing worked. I dont have any apple care or any other plan on it. Is it worth taking it to a local repair shop ( apple said they will charge 799$ to replace it). Is the life of an ipad 4-5 years only? Thanks for your advice.

Thanks. How do I know which local shop is reliable? Are there any nationwide chains that are better than others? We have local Best Buy here and a shop called Simply Mac. Are those good options or just a local shop is better? I dont want to spend too much since I got it new in 2016, so its 4 years old. Thanks

I would compare the price of repairs vs. getting refub iPad. The repairs you were quoted is expensive, I think and could buy used newer iPad for that price.
