I’ve got a 2020 iPad Pro 11” that I really like for what I do with it, but one thing that’s always annoyed me a bit is the ultra wide cam. Why did Apple go out of their way to source a 10MP lens and why did they bother with ultra wide?

One would think Apple would do telephoto for the second lens and even if they went ultra wide, didn’t they have enough 12MP sensors already on hand? Why did they have to only make it 10MP and then scale up the photos to 12MP?

And since Apple has two lenses on the back, plus a LIDAR, why can’t we do portrait photos on the iPad Pro with the rear cameras?

I would actually prefer just one lens on the back and maybe two on the front for video calls.
one in landscape and one in portrait
