I am looking forward to buy iPad Pro 12.9 soon, for the purpose of note taking. I am not a student but working professional and for some advance studies I need to various online courses and take notes for like next 3-6 months.

Can someone in same situation share their feedback as to how useful will iPad Pro for note taking and how to get the best out of it like in terms of apps, accessories etc.

iPad Pro 2018 or 2020, apple pencil 2 and goodnotes 5. The perfect combination for me. With goodnotes you can create notepad and write in different paper templates. You can also use search options in the text that you had hand written.

The 2020 version of the iPad Pro will serve you well, along with Notability. :)

Here is a comparison of GoodNotes 5 and Notability.

We recently had a similar question, I suggest you check that discussion out in the iPad forum.

Apple Pencil, a good back case to put the thing flat on the ground, and a note taking app of your liking. Everyone has a different preference for that. Some use Apple Notes, some other apps.

Just a thought - you don't plan on note taking and using the tablet for your course at the same time do you? It might be difficult to be switching bw apps like Goodnotes and your online course app unless you have a 12.9" and can have both apps side-by-side. I have a 10.5" tablet and the screen is just large enough for note taking alone, I'd hate to see it cut in half so I could have another window.

I bought a 2020 11 inch Pro and Apple Pencil for taking meeting notes on agenda pdf files. I could not be happier and wish that I had done this years ago. I particularly like Notability's audio recording feature to check or correct my notes.

Before purchasing, I was concerned that the 11 inch size would be too small for what I wanted to do. This has not been the case. The size is perfect for note taking under all conditions, standing, sitting, with a table or in my lap.

I’m a corporate accountant who takes notes on my iPad Pro with Goodnotes. It’s so awesome. My notes have become like my own personal Wikipedia because the handwritten notes are searchable. And if I don’t have my iPad, they are all on my iPhone.

I prefer Notability, but I’ve heard some really good things about GoodNotes.
