iPad iPad Pro - what gen?

G'day

Looking at buying the latest iPad Pro 11-inch M4. I've also been looking at cases and screen protectors and there is conflicting information regarding what generation this model is (some saying 7th gen, others saying 5th).

Would appreciate if someone could clarify, as I don't want to purchase the wrong accessories.

The 11" is 5th gen. Overall this is the 7th generation of iPad Pro, but it has two sizes and this 11" size started in 2018 so the 2024 model is Gen 5 (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022. 2024).

I have also seen it being referred to as iPad Pro 11 M4 only without a gen number when I was looking for a case. And even this case on Amazon which I was interested in refers to it as an iPad Pro 11 inch 2024.

But as zkap mentioned above it is indeed the 5th generation of the 11” iPad Pro.
