I’m going to be working outside in a Nordic country for few days, It may get down to -10°C or lower.
I have used my iPad in the cold before, but this will be the coldest temperatures I'll put my iPad through.
Has anyone used their iPads in cold conditions before successfully?
Did you apply and utilise any particular measures (keep the iPad connected to a Power bank throughout the day, heat pads…)
Thanks for any help.

Not my iPad, but it was around 0 here a couple of weeks ago and I left my iPhone in the car while I went for a run for a little over an hour. When I go back, the battery was at 1% (down from a full charge). It came back up quickly as it warm d up, but I’d keep it close to your body when not using it if possible.

I use my iPad to make notes on film sets, so it would be prolonged use. I have been able to work on my iPad before in lower than 0°C temperatures, but never used it in really, really cold conditions. I'm aware I might need to go back to the older way of working taking notes with pen and paper. Just wondering if anyone had success in using an iPad when extremely cold.

I always use my ipad outhere even in winter. Sometimes here gets around -15C

Fokmik, did you successfully work on the iPad outside on a prolonged use all day long (at least 8 hours spent outside)? Do you have any top tips?

I took my iPhone 8 plus and iPad Pro to Antarctica recently. To be fair my iPad stayed on the ship and I only took my phone for landings. Some landings can take 4-5 hours and the phone was completely exposed to the cold.

I didn't take any special measures and the device and battery both held up just fine. My biggest complaint by far was sensor finger tips gloves not being sensitive enough. Lol

8 hours never, but for 1-2 hours(if we are talking here about continuing use) with no issues.
