Ipad pro

I've just bought new Ipad pro with pencil and keyboard. I am considering selling my old laptop with Windows system and just use Ipad (is it a good idea?) could you tell me if its any any way to transfer my data from laptop to ipad and can I find any device (external hard drive) to keep my data on it and connect to ipod ?

It's perfectly possible to use the iPad as you only computer, depending on how you use it. The fastest and easiest way to get your files on your iPad is to upload everything to a cloud service (like Dropbox, Google Drive or iCloud Drive) and access it from your iPad. Once iOS 11 lands, those files can be transferred to the iPad's internal storage (if you prefer that).

External drives generally do not work with iOS. There are Lightning enabled thumb drives, but they only work with a dedicated app and it's hard to get files off that app onto the system itself. Don't expect to be able to connect a random external hard drive, those won't work.

I use my laptop just to watch movie, Fb, Skype, search the Internet etc but need access to Word, Excel and all this kind of stuff for Uni, so I reckon ipad is good enough ? so if I'll buy something like SANDISK iXpand Dual Memory Stick and copy all my data there, Would I be able use it occasionaly by that drive?

Your iPad will be able to do all that, no problem. As for the Sandisk stick, you won't be able to work from it. It will not be like Windows or Mac OS, where you can plug in a drive and drag files onto or off it. If you use a lot of MS Office, I think the most seamless way would be to store your files on Microsoft OneDrive (I'm not sure if Office works with other cloud providers, I don't use it myself).
