So, I downloaded an episode of Fringe and SGU directly on to my iPad.

Last night, I snyc'd my pad and unchecked the boxes for the episodes, which should remove them from the device when I click "Apply". But they stayed on the iPad. I played with it for about 30 mins before I gave up... added and removed them between multiple syncs, and no dice. They will not leave the iPad.

I'm going to have to restore the thing and re-sync all my apps if nobody can offer a fix for the solution, which I hope will someday come in a firmware update. Just going to have to avoid direct downloads until then :(

Any ideas? Thanks

If you are unchecking the box then it should be removing it from the device. Maybe reinstall iTunes to see if that fixes it.

There is a playlist called "Purchased" by default in iTunes. Even if you unchecked the show, if that "purchased" playlist is checked, it will resync them. Check that before doing anything drastic.

Good taste in TV btw.

Had the same problem with movies. To get them off the iPad I opened up the videos app and held my finger on the movie until an X appeared, hit the X and the movie was deleted.

Thanks, this worked. The odd thing is that the delete warning said I hadn't transfered the episodes to iTunes, and they would be lost. But they were transferred just fine when I was first trying this.

So I have to assume the bug that I'm experiencing has to do with the iPad's log files not being properly updated.

Oh well, just glad to have the space finally freed up. Thanks again!
