I am ready to replace my diary and netbook with an ipad. The only thing that's needed is spreadsheet.

Now I understand that the ipad has 'numbers' which is a lite version of number son the mac which I use endlessly.

I have some queries, would be glad if anyone could answer:

1) Can I store spreadsheet files on the ipad? Or do I need to store them online and everytime I need to edit, I have to download them?
2) Can I edit those same spreadsheet files?
3) does numbers for ipad support formulae (simple additions & subtractions)

Cheers!

Office app for iPad

Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite is cheaper ($9.99) and more compatible with MS Office files. You store your documents on the iPad but by using Dropbox, you can access them anywhere.

Except he is a Numbers user on the Mac so he should be fine with numbers on the iPad.

To the OP, yes you store the files on the iPad. Th ey dont at this time update between the mac and iPad automatically though, so you will be in charge of that.

You can indeed edit them and it uses formulas. There are some videos on the apple website on them, they are located in the iPad area toward the bottom. That might help.

There are some limitations, but the bascis work great!

that's brilliant thanks! Saving onto the ipad itself (as i do with my netbook) is what I will do in the first place, then transfer to me.com when I need to print or share.

Cheers!
