Where once there was a placeholder "click here to learn more about the iPad" image, now there is none. Not sure how long this has been the case, but can't have been more than 24 hours.

Maybe they are preparing to open pre-orders in the UK shortly? Although why wouldn't they just switch from the placeholder to the pre-order directly? hmmm

PLEASE be something about pre-orders.. or at the very least a price list!

The wait for such minor snippets of information here in the UK are ridiculous.

Am hoping its pre-orders too. I get paid tomorrow :)

If we don't hear something soon, I am going to get tempted to pull the trigger on one from eBay, which could be a whole world of pain.

just had an online chat with apple UK on the store and asked them why - got cut off after them saying they do not have any more info at this time -

gutted

Well they're not going to say anything until pre-orders are officially announced so I wouldn't take that as a measure of whether anything is imminent or not.

I got cut off too, the conversation went something like this:
Her: "hello, my name is Yvonne. How may I help you"
Me: "Hey Yvonne, when will you be taking pre-orders for UK iPads?"
**The Chat Ended Unexpectedly, please wait a few moments or call us on ...**.

I then tried re-connecting but it didn't connect me to anyone.
I was just curious as to what they might tell me, I am obviously aware that they arn't allowed to say anything before its officially announced.

Well this is all very interesting. Maybe there's a team of Apple secrecy ninjas cutting these conversations off before they yield useful information. I might try it just for fun...

Finally got to chat to a person. Heres what she said.
I removed her name just incase :p. Don't wanna get anyone into trouble.

I just had a similarly information-free conversation. It's difficult to discern whether these are real people or robot ladies from the not-too-distant future.

Eh, I've said it before, but the CSRs are the absolute bottom of the informational food chain, and they know that people are waiting to report their answers online. Cut 'em some slack.

Hey I said as much earlier on - i just thought I'd have a chat for fun to see if the conversation got cut short by Steve Jobs and his digital axe. I've nothing against the robot ladies.
