iPAD Review 2 months on.

Ok I bought an iPad a matter of weeks ago. The reason I bought it wqs because of a holiday I was taking and that I thought it would be good to use to store my photos. I did this and it was OK but I quickly realised its limitations compared to a macbook - no surprise there. I have no interest in games but do enjoy reading. It took some getting use to but I now find it a pleasant experience to read on. I get a daily paper 'The Times" and this is good but for me the best discovery is the fact that I can upload documents ie PDF's or word docs and read them as if they were books. I'm currently studying and researching a range of topics. I find the iPAD excellent for this when travelling or just sitting around. I thought I'd made an expensive mistake but now realise that it does what I want it to do. Well done Apple.

Some games are pretty cool on there though, maybe try out a few free ones. Also it is great for reading as I normally decide to read at like 1 AM in the morning so nice that its back lit and glad you are enjoying it as well

Same happened to me. The first few days I thought I had made a mistake too.
My fav apps are iAnnotate for PDF viewing and annotations. GoodReader has a more advanced file system, but iAnnotate allows you to open several PDFs in different tabs, so you can quickly switch between them. Plus, it supports DropBox and has it's own LAN transfer agent (I forgot the name, but it's on their website).

I hope you won't go crazy like I did looking for apps. Make sure you choose the right ones, so later you won't have to delete them.

Stay away from apps that have the words "Free" or "Lite" on their names, unless you are test driving them to later buy the full app.

Get FAAD (Free App a Day) to be notified of fully working apps that become free on a specific day only.

I haven't purchased an Office Suite, not even pages or Numbers, as I'm not convinced these are capable of doing what I need them to do. You'll have to go by the reviews, not only inside the App Store, but on other websites too.
