Hi Everyone,

Not sure how many of you out there have internet service through Time Warner/Roadrunner. I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a way to send email, through your Roadrunner account, when you are not connected to your Roadrunner cable modem.

I've been able to do it on my iPhone by using the AT&T server for the outgoing server but since I can't do that with the iPad does anyone know of a workaround?

Thanks!!

Sign up for a gmail account, then use it for your SMTP server on the iPad. You can even set up the gmail account to look like it's coming from your RR account, and CC your Roadrunner account on all outgoing mail.

How do you do this? I know how to set it up to use the smtp server from gmail to send out my ema9il but how do I make it look like it is comming from my RR email account.

Go to your gmail account and click on "settings". Go to "accounts and import". There is an option to "Send Mail As". Read through the "learn more" section and it should guide you through the process. I have the same problem on my iPad where my rr account won't send email throught the smtp-server.roadrunner.com (where "roadrunner" is similar to your email address) but it goes through the smtp server set up for my gmail address. before I set up this "send mail as" option, I could get my rr.com mail to go out but it would appear to come from my gmail address which was not good at all. Now I can get my rr email to work albeit through a gmail workaround, on my iPad. Not elegant, but it works.
