Yeah, starting with iPadOS 13, the iPad requests the desktop version by default. My Air 5 on iPadOS 15 identifies itself as “MacOS X”. There may be other differences, that’s the first one that comes to mind. iOS 12 and earlier though? They might be the same.
Safari regularly crashes and partially loads webpages on my iPad. I don’t use it anymore. I hear some web developers hate Safari and don’t bother supporting it anymore, and pages don’t load properly. It just loads and freezes.
Try requesting the desktop webpage. Thanks what would cause iPhone and Safari not letting me see a google price calendar listing of a hotel when I look up the term hotels name of place I want to vacation. It just loads and freezes. Of course there a few more steps. If you need me to go through them I will. Why does it work on my iPad though ? Weird.
How the heck do you do that on an iPad?Try requesting the desktop webpage.
iPadOS 16.1. and 16.2. The issues are the same for both versions.Which version of iPadOS?
I disabled, enabled Limit IP Address Tracking, Hide IP Address, Block All Pop-Ups and Block All Cookies. All these are off when using DuckDuckGo and no issues at all.Temporarily deactivate the blocking of Pop-Ups in Safari.
iCloud Private Relay can sometimes interfere with a site - check after temporarily allowing the website to see your IP address or turning it off.
I disable ad Blocker Pro and no I’m not using a VPN.You are using any additional adblock extension in Safari or a VPN?

What Percentage of Internet Traffic Is Mobile? [Oct '24 Upd]
Mobile's website traffic share has surged in recent years. Here’s a look at what percentage of internet traffic is mobile in 2024.www.oberlo.com
I've only had one website in the last year that didn't load fully on iPad. But did so on my phone. Sometime you need to orient in Portrait mode over landscape for the buttons on the bottom of screen to be visible, those are the issues I've encountered. If prices missing, likely due to cookies or tracking.
It wasn't that long ago, but not at all recent, that I contacted the site manager for some financial company I think, and was told they recommended Explorer and didn’t support Safari. I replied that..uh you might want to rethink that stance. Of course now that no longer comes up but I do see either Firefox or Chrome referenced often, and I again think they might want to reconsider and do the work needed to serve their users. I used to keep Firefox on my laptop just in case but deleted it a year or so ago. Haven’t had an issue but will protest if I do and another browser is suggested.Interesting. I’m actually quite surprised it’s not closer to 80%. I feel like almost everyone just uses their smartphones to browse on the web.
