Apple must be about to announce iPad availability in New Zealand - the NZ Apple home page says available now, however, clicking this link still goes to a coming soon page (and the store is down):

:D

I think it's there just to rub our noses in it. At this rate we will see an official release in NZ just as everyone else in the world is lining up for the 2nd Generation iPad.

Too bad, I really wanted one for university, and if I can't get one before the 2nd semester (I finish my degree at the end of the year), then my argumentations for getting one are out the window and the missus snaps the purse shut

I hope ipad will be available all around of the world soon. Many companies are launching the new tablet to rival the iPad.

If it's due to ship in July then I'm hoping that they'll start taking pre-orders soon. It's been a long wait!

They've just removed the now available image. Perhaps it was a mistake, or perhaps they were prepping for the coming weeks (seeing as it is 'coming in July').

With the iPad and iPhone release to be in the same month, I wonder how it will affect sales...

I think it was an oversight - I think that this was originally the iPad tech-spec linky, and that once it was released to everyone but us that Apple added the "Available now" text.

In regards to the July release date, I don't see it happening really if you consider that people are still posting shortages of iPads (especially the 16 and 32GB 3G versions) which are still ongoing in some countries. At this stage I think we will see them until August at the earliest, and the new iPhone not until late October seeing how quickly they sold out in the US.

I for one am quite irritated by this considering that we're no the biggest market so it would take only very few iPads to satisfy the national demand. The longer it takes Apple to get the iPad to market here, the more market share it will lose in the tablet sector as more and more suitable alternatives do become available.
