Since updating to iOS 11.3.1, an IPP 12.0 G2 and an iPad Mini 4, both with LTE, are experiencing multiple screen freezing episodes. Corresponding to these freezes are Jetsam Event in Analytics.
The iPads are not set up the same and have totally different apps, iCloud, etc...

Any ideas or thoughts would be welcome as this has become painful.

Jetsam Screen Short - all events are similar

After the latest update, my Pro takes a lot longer to boot up and is very glitchy. Is there a way to revert to the previous OS?

Spent some time with an Apple rep today. Think the issue is a conflict between 11.3.1 and one or more apps.
So, reset to factory via iTunes as new. Running stock Apple only apps at the moment. Screen is running fine.
Will slowly start adding apps.... and cross my fingers.
If this works will do the same for my roomies Mini 4.

Dude, the iPads are faulty. Had the same issue till mine were swapped out.

A near fix is to disable multi finger gestures in Settings/Multitasking.

If the issue goes away after a restore to factory condition with a fresh co-y of iOS and no user data on the device it doesn’t appear to be hardware.

Took it into the Genius Bar. Low and behold, they ran some diagnostics and it had an issues with the upper 2/3 of the screen (when viewed in portrait). Had it freeze on him when going into the settings. Replaced it with another unit. It appears this is not an uncommon occurrence as the Genius Bar person was familiar with the issue.

So far so good with the replacement unit. ;)

Awesome to hear that you got it sorted! Btw - for someone in support no tech issue is unheard of- they encounter them all sooner or later. How that should be communicated to a customer is a different matter.

Enjoy the new device!

Glad to hear you got it sorted. I have had issues since I purchased my 12.9 2nd gen on launch day (which software updates seem to have fixed), but am dealing with a variety of random freezes in Safari etc. and the iPP getting hot while drawing since upgrading to 11.3. These are the reasons why my 7+ is not on 11.3.

If it persists, I will take the iPP in this Friday.

Unlock screen rotation. Change from landscape to portrait or vice versa. Use the keyword in safari. Again swap rotation mode to previous. Lock rotation. Should fix.

Screen rotation isn't locked. And you mean Keyboard correct? Also, this does not solve the iPad Pro heating up when I am drawing (bluetooth, procreate and photos are on/open that's it). I never had an overheat issue while drawing in iOS 10. if I can recreate these issues on command, then I am taking it in.

Rotate from landscape to portrait or vice versa. Use the keyboard. And then again rotate.

I had this issue the first month or two with my 12.9 2nd gen, unlike you however updates have seemed to completely fix it for me . Hope you guys get it sorted out, maybe try a full refresh? Like I said it did go away for me, so I do believe it’s in the software.

I have gotten a freeze 2 times since I got my iPad 2018 around 2 months ago. Both times it happened when using slide over. I would use slide over with music and safari and then the screen would just freeze. The audio would work though and I could even respond to a notification that popped up. I restarted it both times. It’s not a big deal but I didn’t think the new iPad should be doing this or is this normal that it can happen?

Definitely not normal.

If there is no storage space and the freezing caused by running many applications at the same time, it can be solved well after regularly cleaning up useless data, files or cache. But if it's an internal system issue during or after an iOS update, hard resetting the iPad or restoring the iPad to factory defaults is an extreme way to fix iPad keeps freezing. Of course, this problem usually occurs in the middle and late use of the iPad, but if you have such a problem with a new device, you need to contact Apple for processing.

I had the same issue with both my Pro 10.5 that I bought at launch. Apple Covent Garden was kind enough to replace both (for other issues), the replacements are pretty good :)
