Stolen iPad - activation lock email?

Good evening everyone,

My iPad was stolen from my hotel room this weekend.

I put it into lost mode but it appears it hasn’t been connected to the internet

I just got this email:

What does this mean? Is someone trying to access my iPad?

On a side note: if it hasn’t been connected to Wi-Fi is there any way for the person to get my contact info to get in touch with me?

No, unless you had it on the lock screen or as a lock screen wallpaper with your information on it. Sorry.

If when you put it in lost mode you entered a message saying how to contact you then that's how they'll contact you. If not you're kinda stuck.
