Forgive me, this is probably an old topic but I don't know how to search/describe this issue.
In a previous OS - Yosemite? Mavericks? - maybe prior, Apple began numbering versions of the Machine ID.
For example: If Mac was named named Woz, you might see Woz (3), Woz (12) in Shared listings in Finder. Drove me nuts.
My new (and old) iPad Pro 9.7 gives me a Sync error of 'associated with Woz (3) library'. Do you want to erase iPad and blah blah - ...one library at a time.
I presumed this would go away with the new iPad. I resorted from iCloud.
The Shared (numberings) seemed to have gone away with El Capitan(?)
How do I disassociate these Share 'designations' so I can sync properly?
And what do I call XXX (#s) in order to search here for threads on this topic or at Apple Support?
Thanks so much.
