More and more classical musicians are replacing their printed sheet music with digital sheet music on tablets.

What are recommendations for iPads, accessories, and software for doing this? This would include software that would not only allow me to view the music, but also be able to annotate it. I would also want a foot pedal or equivalent to turn pages.

I'm using Stave'n'Tabs for reading / writing my sheet music (iPadOS and macOS).
There's a free version with certain limitations, but it may be sufficient for you to take a closer look at it.

One of the most used apps for sheet music on iPad is forScore, it supports pencil annotation and bluetooth pedals.
Of course in terms of iPads there is only one good option at this point, the 12.9in iPad. If you want to save some money and will not be using the tablet for much more than sheet music you are better off saving some money and getting something like a 3rd gen 12.9, which will be just as good as the current one for what you will be using for.

I agree with this - Forscore and 12.9 ipad. I use a PageFlip butterfly pedal (when I’m not too lazy to get it out lol)
