A small strip of alien tape on the hard plastic (not screen) of the airplane seat, one naked iPad, and BAM! Awesome travel experience!

Eye level, my content, amazing screen. Add a BT controller… I had a blast!

Twist off the iPad and you’re done.

Some of domestic and international flight I take have built in entertainment system, so taping on top of their screen can be challenging, not to mention even 11” could be big. Also the safety risk: whatever Tape you are using is unlikely to be able to survive turbulence and keep your heavy iPad in check. While this hack looks cool, I don’t think I’ll use it myself.

This sits on top of their built in entertainment screen. As I stated, it sticks to the hard plastic frame, not the screen.

It’s the perfect size for me!

Alien tape is incredibly secure. It’s far more secure than an iPad sitting on the little pull down tables.

Fair enough - it’s not for everyone.

I see. On top of their own screen. But since iPad would need to be removed from it after plane lands, the tape would not be too strong, in addition to not leaving residue on those plastics.
Still a very cool idea worth exploring though if I have a chance.

That's the beauty of alien tape - it's super strong until you twist it to remove it. And it doesn't leave any residue at all.

A great use for an older iPad that’s otherwise redundant, then the risk that it might fall doesn’t matter (and an older iPad is probably less likely to break as a result anyway.)
