Hi,

I sent in my old iPad Air 2 for trade-in to Brightstar using the form on the Apple website. Brightstar rejected the trade in claiming there was damage to the enclosure and lowered their offer from $130 to $0. Having proof (photos) that there was nothing wrong with the iPad when I sent it in, I rejected the $0 offer and asked for it to be sent back.

After a few weeks I received the iPad back, in perfect working condition as I sent it in... no sign of the damage they claimed.

I want to give the iPad to a family member instead, but the problem is the iPad was sent back with a profile installed on it and it says the iPad is under supervision and restricted. I have tried following a few guides on how to remove the profile but nothing works... any idea on how to remove the profile and unrestrict it?

Thanks

It sounds like you’ll need to advise Brightstar that they didn’t remove a profile from your iPad when they returned it. They should be able to remove it from their end.
Failing that, take the iPad with your purchase receipt to Apple and ask them to help you.

You didn’t get into contact with them or they refused to help?

They just kept on saying to erase all settings when I explained that it didn’t solve the problem they said to try again and again, then after a few times of that they said I needed to update iOS, which also didn’t work. Eventually I just gave up dealing with them and tried the DFU restore and it worked.
