Hey,

I have chance to get a 64gb 3G ipad brought over for me and wanted to ask a few questions.

If you want to use the 3g part, I guess it will show AT&T as the service provider, Is it easy to change to the uk provider like O2? Will there be any problems?

Also if I want to buy some apps in time once released in uk can use my uk account but in mean time if I set up a us account apparently I would need a gift voucher to buy something as I do not have a US credit card but also wondered... any apps bought through a US account... can they be transferred to the uk account? IF you change itunes to my uk account wouldn't it delete the app from the ipad bought on the us account as it would not be listed in available apps for the UK account??????

Thank you

First off the iPad is sold "unlocked" - Steve said this when he announced it back in January.

When you get the iPad you have mentioned it will likely be supplied with an AT&T MicroSIM already installed (as all unboxing video's on YouTube so far have shown).

You will be able to whip this out and pop in a UK MicroSIM. Chances are however you wont have one (as no carrier currently stocks them).

So you will need to get a normal SIM card from your UK Network of choice (Vodafone, O2, Orange) and then cut it down to the right size. There are plenty of guides on this online already. Once you have done this you can pop it in the iPad and browse away.

As for iTunes purchases. From what I've found out so far, you wont be able to purchase Apps directly off the iPad using a non-US iTunes accounts. HOWEVER, you will be able to purchase them through iTunes on a PC or Mac and then Sync them over to the iPad as normal.

Once the iPad is released over here you should regain full functionality.

If I'm wrong about these then please can someone correct me, as I too am looking to get an iPad imported. Many thanks.
