Anyway, I've been using Handbrake's Ipad presets to encode DVD's for playback on Ipad. The video and audio sound terrific and work fine in Itunes, but when synced to the Ipad, there is minute millisecond delay in the audio and video. People speak a few milliseconds before their mouths open.

I don't understand why it would play fine in VLC, Itunes, QT and then have this odd out of sync problem on the Pad.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Ive tried every preset and they all come up with an audio/video sync issue of several milliseconds. This is beyond irritating.

Are you using the nightly build?

About the only time I have issues with sync is when there's something ****** about the way the disk is mastered, like old TV shows or something. Usually that's related to messed up flags on the disk and variable frame rate. Even so it's been some time since it's happened.

Sadly, no - still running the last build for PowerPc g5. With the release of new handbrake and the fact that mkvtools is all intel, I may just cough up the cash and by a new imac tomorrow.
