Ipad video formats?

What ipad movie formats are supported. I tried a bluray title converted to mp4 and it wouldn't sync it and told me it couldn't play it?

Im using handbrake to convert some of my vids into .m4v (h.264)

Use the Apple TV preset and scale the resolution to 1280x720 and so far no problems

Got a lotta movies - roughly how long per gig does conversion take and can handbrake handle batchs?

I converted Toy Story from 1080p to 720p and the file size is 1.5GB it took about an hour on my i7 920 (slower the CPU the longer it will take)

handbrake does handle batch processing

Im also on Windows 7 64bit
