iPad waiting list, Long island, NY

Anyone on Long Island, NY: How long have you been/were you on the waiting list for an iPad? (any model)

I just put myself on the list at 2 stores, wondering how long it will take, hoping to learn from experiences of others.

I got my 3G iPad from Best Buy. They had a few of them.

I would suggest checking Bestbuy.com out. I would look for you, but I don't want to go threw 6 different models checking SKU's if you have one in your head. They can tell you if the stores have it in stock. 16GB Wifi looks like it's all SOLD OUT in these Bestbuy's:

i live close to the westbury best buy and every time i call im greeted with a VERY angry and/or disgruntled BB employee yelling in my ear about how "WE HAVE NO iPADS" or "iPAD SOLD OUT"
update: haha, well, according to the BB website, they got em.
update 2: haha, well, according to calling the BB store, they don't got em. i suspect they are lying, as apparently they do this now. Or a BB employee bought it to resell on ebay or something.

The website is pretty accurate with stock. If the site says they have it, I would just go there.
 
I would order it for in-store pickup. Then when you get your e-mail, go there.

Then, if they have it, you won't have to deal with any employees and just pick it up behind the counter. And if they don't have it, have them reverse the charge.

Yep I went to the same best buy and they are very rude, I found one at bestbuy in valley stream. and dont go by their website it is no accurate, just call them up, you might get lucky. call them every day twice a day.
 
apple store availability as of 3:30 pm today:
Manhasset, NY has 32GB 3G models
Rosevelt Field has 64GB Wi-Fi
 
Well that sucks. Their systems been pretty dead on out here where I live. When we were looking for a 64g pad out here it told us exactly when they had them in stock. Just called down to verify before we made the 15 min drive to the store. Good luck

maybe you're lucky. I have called this particular best buy before about a simple iPhone case and they said they had it. 30 minutes later i get to the store, employee tells me they did not have it. The same employee then tries to sell a Invisible shield to a guy, the guy had an iphone 4 and was worried about the quality and the BB employee strait up lied to him saying it was crystal clear and its like nothing on the screen. I corrected him and they guy walked away. personal victory! so **** zagg and BB

I purchased 2 using Best Buy's website to check in store stock. It was accurate for me.
