You need to resize them to 320x480 for iPhone / iPod Touch

Not sure what the "them" is that you're referring to but . . .
Here's how I grab an image for use as iPad or iPhone wallpaper.
Put finger on image and hold down, select an option.
If I select the save option it goes to iPhoto and from there to my iPhone.
I don't know of any short cut method for getting a wallpaper from my iPad to my iPhone.
