iPad Wifi + 3G imminent?

Apple debited my account late last night for both of the iPad WiFi + 3G's I have on order. I got e-mail confirmation that one of them would be shipped to me on Friday Aopril 30. No word on the second. The fact that they already debited my account tells me that my orders may get to me sooner than expected. That being said my shipping info has not yet changed.

Anyone else have their accounts debited?

Nope, nowhere on his entire forum have I read of someone's credit card being charged. I think you may be the absolute first one ;)

There's no way you're getting it before the 30th, unfortunately.

I agree with the above, the iPad 3G isn't coming any time soon. Just learn to deal with it.
 
My credit card has been hit too - for the full amount. It's status is pending.

My order status is still "Not yet shipped", ships late April.

As has been said here before, the Credit Card hits are basically pre-authorizations. Apple just wants to ensure you have the money before they ship. You may see it go away then come back again. This is normal.

My account has a pre-auth pending on it now for the full amount. This is only a test.

Steve Jobs says we will get our iPad 3G's on April 30th and that is the date we will get it, not one day sooner.

Buck up me hardies, only 7 days 14 hours left to go.
 
Took my money give me my IPAD!!!!

My credit card was debited on Wednesday around 10am. I also received an email but it said only "late April."

Apple apparently wants to time deliveries with store availability, which they have set to the specific date. They will control it so that happens,

This is a timed delivery. They negotiated with FedEx or UPS to makes sure everything get timed to deliver across the country on the same day. Just like the did with, for example, both Leopard and Snow Leopard.

Hey...I hope you do get it early, that would be great. But alas, you won't.
 
I ordered on 4/20 and card was dinged yesterday 4/21. Full amount. I got a call from Capital One fraud division.

We don't yet know if this truly is a timed delivery.

Remember, the iPad was released on 4/3.

I know what the press release said, yes it said it will be delivered on 4/30. We will wait and see.

As long as I have it by 4/30, I'll be happy, anything sooner than that will be wonderful though.

Well, no...we only have Apple's word for it. I suppose they could change their mind and deliver it early. They're certainly known to be whimsical like that in their new product deliveries.:D

Was this a credit card charge or a debit transaction from a check card? It seems check cards are getting more action than regular credit cards like American Express, Discover, etc.

People please, a little perspective here! The thing will be in stores and in your hot little hands (if you get one at a store) in 7 days. 7 (SEVEN) days! How is that anything but "immenent"? (BTW it's spelled imminent) It isn't coming any time soon? Seriously?

Have we really become this short of attention...this conditioned for immediate gratification? It's a friggin' toy. It isn't going to extend your life or solve world problems.

Folks, if you find yourself pining for a 3G iPad and feel you simply can not wait any longer, go outside...ponder the sun. It's 4.5 billion years old. It has 5 billion years of energy left. Ponder the moon if it's night time. The moon is also 4.5 billion years old. The amount of time left before the iPad 3G arrives is microscopic on the scheme of things. Subatomic even.

Well, it better be. I'm not one to ever complain, but my card is charged, and I specifically pre-ordered so I'd get it LATE APRIL before I go away for almost a month on May 1st... So I figured late april, I'd have it for my trip... which is why I got it in the first place... TRAVEL. As long as it's here by Friday of next week though I'm more than happy and the April promise has been lived up to

Mine was charged, not a soft or pending charge. I ordered my 3G when they first became available and have had soft charges every 7th day since then, but this is different.
 
The same exact thing happened to me. They put a hold on my card on wednesday and sent me an email that said "late april".
