iPad wifi in-store availability NYC?

Hi, i'm from NZ and my girlfriend is in NY at the moment - would she be able to pick up an iPad wifi in an Apple store there and then? Or are there still 2-3 day delays? Thanks.

Went into the 5th ave store. Was told I could only sign up to be put on the waiting list for an ipad. That any ipads that come in are going to people on the waiting list only.

Have her call all of the Apple stores to check stock. Also try Tekserve on 23rd and 6th Avenue, (212) 929-3645. There is a BestBuy that's on the same corner of 23rd and 6th. She can check there to.

this was LAST sunday (may 30) but the store in the meatpacking district had quite a few behind the register on the first floor.
