iPad Wifi to iPad 3G now back to iPad Wifi

All 16 GB models,

Call me mad but went a full circle & back with the Wifi only model, reasons:

-I find it Much lighter
-Better looking
-Have iPhone 3GS jail broken with MyWi, don't wanna pay another data plan as I have 6GB Rogers plan for $30/month on iPhone (Canada)
-Somehow didn't like the not so smooth feeling of the 3G,s plastic antenna window on my finger tips
-Nude case fit horrible on the 3G model, I know I could have gotten another case!

Anybody else done the same as me? Or I am all alone

I bought a 3G out of the gate and love it. I like having the option of ordering the built in 3G and the GPS/compass. You can use mifi/mywi on a 3G model or any other tethering solution so I don't know why one would switch back to a wifi only unit.

Have gps/compass on iPhone.......stop tempting me as I have the 3G unopened sitting at home to go back to Apple, still have a few days to decide, by the way this unopened one is different than the actual one I had for a week

yeah but why would you want to pay an additional $30 a month for that when you can just use your cell phone to tether from the start?!

I purposely avoided the 3G models because of the $120 markup for the 3G feature and the stupid monthly plans.

Wifi is faster and all I need.

3G all the way, although our deals in the UK are a bit better value than over the water!

Nice to have the backup of 3G just incase, the iPhone option is just a bit clunky. Battery on the iPhone would not last that long with miwi. You get gps on the 3G model, plastic bevel wise, if you hate it so much, flip the iPad around.

The 3G model is only 0.1 pounds heavier.

I had the wifi model, switched to the 3G model, and stuck with it.

You don't need to activate the AT&T data plan if you don't need it however. It's contract free. If you have another mobile data solution you can use with your iPad that's fine. However, AT&T does cover areas that other carriers do not. I guess its just a preference, I feel paying the extra upfront $130 is worth it for another data option. I did experiment with mywi on a jail broken iphone but found the connection slower than the built in 3G on the iPad. It also drained my iPhone battery. I know it's worked out better for others.

I may change my mind as 4G smart phones are released (like the EVO) that can operate as a hotspot. I have a feeling that AT&T is going to lag well behind other carriers in adopting the next generation of cellular data services.

There's no value in the 3G model to me either, since I can tether off my current cell phone. Getting amazingly fast speeds through the wifi model myself, love it.

I have the 32gb wifi and im happy with the 3g iphone and mywi.
