iPad with 3G but not Edge?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if I get the iPad with 3G option, does that mean that if I'm in an area where 3G is not available, I won't get Edge either or does that just work for cell phones?

Yes EDGE is also available on iPad

and to further answer it, yes edge will work, think of it like iPhone 3G.
It uses 3G when available but will switch to edge where there is not 3G.
