I just replaced the dock connector in my first generation iPad, and now it's getting power, but it won't turn on. When I connect the charger and press either the lock button or home button, the screen just flashes quickly. Then a couple seconds later, it does it again, and again, and again...

I have tried holding the lock/home buttons and I've tried connecting it to iTunes on my computer, and nothing is working. No signs of life other than the flickering screen.

What could be wrong here? I bought this non-working with the intent to repair it, and I was told the LCD may be faulty, but wouldn't iTunes detect the device if it was just the LCD?

Device is a first generation iPad 32gb Wi-Fi model.
