I have an iPad Pro 9.7 that I restored from an iPad mini. Now that iOS 11.2.1 is out, I got the alert that it was ready to install, but when I try to install it, I am getting an error message that "You can install this update when your iPad is finished restoring from the iCloud backup."

This has been going on for over a week. As far as I know this iPad is already done restoring from the iCloud backup. I've been using it lightly for a few weeks now. I don't even see a way to force the iPad to finish restoring. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

I would connect it to iTunes and see what the status is. What IOS release does the system show on the iPad? If possible, take a backup, do a fresh install of IOS 11, restore from backup.

Thanks Richard. Connecting it to iTunes did the trick. when I did that, i got a pop up that the iPad is still restoring from iCloud, but that I could cancel the restore from icloud on the iPad. When I went there, it was stuck on restoring books. i was able to cancel the restore, and then do the update.
