I understand that a bug in a previous iOS (13.something I think) caused a problem for users trying to connect via Facetime with those using devices on iOS 9.3.5, but that it was fixed in a subsequent release.
Does anyone know if this bug has been repeated in iPadOS 14.0.1? My mum has just been treated to a new iPad and suddenly is unable to connect with either her 95 year old sister who uses an old iPad, or myself who likewise uses an ancient device. She has no problem connecting with my brothers who both have more recent iPhones.
Surely Apple haven't made the same mistake again?

I have the same problem with my mum's iPad3.
After the correction of that iOS13 bug, it worked fine again for some weeks, but since i updated to iOS 14 i can no longer call her on facetime. That's quite disappointing for both of us:(

I have a similar issue. In my case, a compatibility issue on FaceTime between iPads running 14.2 and Macs running 10.12.6 (Sierra)? I keep getting a black screen and disconnected upon connection and the Apple support team has, thus far, been unable to help. The Mac running 10.12.6 (Sierra) works perfectly with an iPhone running 13.2.3. Thank you.
