What do you would like to see on iPadOS 14?
Here is my list:

1. Less intrusive interface

Across iOS some parts of the interface are intrusive, for example Siri or the Control Center. Access to them without interrupting what we are doing, would be great.

2. Home screen

I would like to see a desktop-like home screen, with the possibility to add files, photos, and more.

3. Multiuser

We need multiuser support on the iPad. It will be great if Apple uses Face ID and Touch ID for a more intuitive experience.

4. Safari

Safari on iPadOS is great, but we need a more complex browser, with plug-ins and more.

5. Files

Files continues lacking some features we have on Mac.

6. Multitasking

I would like a better integration with apps on multitasking. Also floating app windows.

7. Property external monitor support

8. Apps

App Store has great apps, but it continues missing pro apps. Also I would like the possibility to install apps outside the App Store.

I want a real desktop-like OS for the iPad but with a touch-based interface, preserving the essence of the iPad.

PD: if I made grammar mistakes, I'm sorry, English isn't my native language

Just watch. You’ll get every single thing on that list with iOS 14 and yet the day it comes out, we’ll have a new thread on here about why an iPad isn’t a laptop. Ugh.

I am so happy you are not in charge of iOS. Complex Browsing? Access to system data? Add Files to home screen?

You need an android 🤢

Marlon, Apple will never allow the user to access system files on an ios based device. Even on mac os they try to block you but it can bypassed. Everything else that you requested though will probably be added at some point.

For me picture and picture on all video not just iTunes films or certain apps. YouTube i would find this very useful but i guess that’s more on google than apple.

Funnily enough, there is another thread with this exact same title.

Consistent, enforced File System access and hierarchy. No changing the interface based on an individual app developers whim.

A page file. The iPad can’t move to the next level when I can’t be certain my session in whatever program in the background may be terminated unexpectedly.

Proper external monitor support.

Floating window multi-tasking. No allowing developers (looking at you, Google) the option of preventing multi-tasking, picture in picture, etc.

Proper system access to allow 3rd party developers to truly port their full Mac apps to iPadOS.

I’m happy with iOS on my iPhone. But I would like all of this on my iPad

That's right, but this things are the most request by the iPad users. That ”complaints” will mostly disappear.

I think that it could be nice if they could add App switching with swipe on splitwindow multitasking like the floating multitasking.

It could be nice to swap between 2-3 apps on the one half of the screen.

It would be nice, but it can be confusing for some people. Adding the possibility to disable it from the settings app will be fine

I’d like to add better side are support onto the wishlist. Right now, when I connect my ipad pro to sidecar on my iMac, I cannot use the Magic keyboard for typing. I would love to see it where I can just connect to my imac (even when locked) and then just be able to use my ipad as if it were a mac, without ever touching my imac or the accessories connected to it.

For me there are 2 main things that can realistically be expected:
- full external display support (extend displays, multiple aspect ratios)
- improved files app that is as close as possible to a true file system (the new mac view of ipados is nice but I cannot even view full file names...)
Other things would be great, but it's not realistic to expect them before years (such as floating windows, a full, app-agnostic, file system, and browser extensions...)

I need global shortcut keys to help me launch or switch between apps faster, launch Siri Shortcuts with a hotkey combination, etc. "Full keyboard access" in accessibility is so close on this respect, and yet so far.

The page file / ability to leave apps running in the background is essential.

Need real function keys ... if not actually on the hardware, then via some sort of modifier keys (globe and caps lock are non-essential and can be sacrificed to become a fn key).

Settings needs new top level: Apps
Then move all apps, and also everything in General: iPad Storage
Everything in one place.

Unused apps offloaded manually, notby iOS decision.
Sort by... name, size, last updated, last used.
______
Want to see battery level in Settings: Battery for all connected devices, not just in Desktop Widget.
Pencil, keyboard, AirPod, Beats headphone, Magic Mouse, trackpad, etc.

Well I personally wish that apps did not take up the full screen so multi-window support as well as a more developed file system.

That being said, even though I love the iPad I still have a backup computer of some sort and will for the foreseeable future. Tried going iPad only before and it just doesn’t work out for a variety of reasons.

For home, there's just stuff I do that Apple will likely never officially sanction on iOS (direct imaging of microSD for RPi 4, ROMs, etc) so I expect I'll always need another PC of some sort.
