Wondering if its worth updating from 14.x to 15.1 now

(JB and stuff).

yes, 15.1 isnt signed but I have my ways to workaround.

This would be for a mini5 and M1 11"

Im asking did you guys regret going from 14 to 15 and long for getting Pad14 back specifically? (disregard iPhones, etc. for now)

I updated my iPhone 12 Pro which was long In the tooth from 14.1 to 15.1.1 and seems like a nice upgrade so far.
Debating the same 14.8 to 15.1 on my Se2020 with battery case, but going to wait a bit on that since its the most mature iOS 14 device I have and.. reasons.

But iPad I feel like I wanna test drive it more at the store, didnt like the new layout (which I can eventually 'fix' later with a tweak) but both devices have been performant and iPads im less itchy to upgrade all the time vs. iPhone where much more is Hooked to it.

thanks

iOS 15.x is okay, but buggy. iPadOS 15.x is an abomination IMO. YMMV of course. Safari blows chunks, the Home screen widgets suck beyond belief, huge numbers of bugs, etc. Unless you are absolutely sure you can downgrade back to 14.x, which I seriously doubt you can, I wouldn’t upgrade to 15.x. I suggest you find someone who has 15.x installed on their iPad and play around with it for a while before deciding.

Yeah it’s a one way road to iOS 15

No way of going back to iOS 14 if I do.

I hope its not too terrible going to put it on my m1 11

going to hold off on mini 5 for now since its 'old' (2019, A12) or, older.

I honestly don't see any problems upgrading. Either way, you're getting a barely upgraded version of iOS on a device with a desktop-class processor and (in my 1TB pro version) 16GB RAM that's hobbled by a crappy OS.

its been nice on my m1 11" iPad Pro! Superior experience to 14.5 that its been on since I got it at launch prior to a couple weeks ago

I have kept my iPad mini 5th generation on 14.3 for now though.

I like it this way!
