How stable is iPadOS 16 PB4 now? How’s the impact to the battery life on M1 iPad Pro?

I have been thinking of installing the public beta since pb2 was released, but I want a relatively more stable performance.

What are some of the main annoyances with PB4 on M1 iPad Pro?

Battery life isn't awful or anything, but it's also noticeably worse than 15.6.

But honestly I'm enjoying Stage Manager enough that it's worth it. I work from home so I mostly use my iPad with a keyboard; it's not really a problem to keep it plugged in during the day

Thanks for the comment. I’m particularly concerned about battery life, iCloud sync issues with iPhone running 15.6 (especially Notes, Reminders, Books, Safari iCloud syncing, etc.), and sudden soft re-boots/freezing of the OS.

Thanks, this is really insightful feedback. Could you give a percentage of how worse the battery life is on iPadOS 16 public beta 4 compared with iPadOS 15.6? Would you say it’s 10% worse or more?

I'm personally finding iOS16 rather "boing" in a good way as not experiencing any issues at all

I'd estimate roughly 15-20% worse. But your mileage may vary. One thing I've noticed about iOS updates is that some people have wildly different battery life experiences on the same OS build, on the same device model. It's weird.

Not all that weird when you consider it’s usually due to application optimization. Since one user is almost certainly running different apps than another, this is likely the reason for variance.
