Any idea if apple will drop support for Gen 1 iPad Pro with iPadOS 16 coming this fall ? My iPad 2015 Gen 1 - Pro was Working fine until yesterday when it started rebooting continuously .. went to Apple store and they offered to swap it out with new (not refurbished) Gen1 for $99 .. good deal but makes me wonder if they will drop support for this Gen1 in few months ..

A9/2GB isn't likely to be supported.
If you have the 12.9-inch version, it might be supported since it has 4GB memory.

A9/2GB (that is the 2017 iPad 5) will probably not be supported anymore. A9X/2GB is a different device, more in line with the 2018 A10/2GB iPad 6. We'll know soon.
But I think the idea of all iPads getting 7+ years of support like the air 2 will soon come to a end....
