iPadOS 18.2 bugs, problems, and observations

Have a M2 Air and have a couple of bugs.

• Notes doesn’t work and is frozen
• Copy between devices doesn’t work either
• Also, in Mail, I don’t have the Categories and can’t find any setting to enable it (iOS only???)

ChatGPT integration is not quite what I expected. First, there is no way I can find to have it read in Siri or ChatGPT's voice. It only seems to type out queries. Plus, it will only stay on the screen for just a few seconds and then disappears without any way I see to retrieve the info. I see you can Copy it, but with Notes not working and Copy between devices not working, this kind of limits this. Is Apple planning on a voice/read option, or are you required to use the app?

Siri is, of course, still just obtuse. I know the Siri update is still months away, but…….

A little update. Notes and Copy/Paste across devices started working today.

I can’t reliably swipe safari tabs away to close them.

For some reason I have really bad framerate issues since I updated to 18.2. I have rebooted and it doesn’t fix it, it’s intermitent sometimes I get the full framerate other times it feels choppy sub 60 hz/fps. Happens on the home screen or in apps.

This scenario is no more, but initially updating from what was shipped on IPad Mini 7’s to iPadOS 18.0.1 and then 18.2 beta failed for me. But if you update to the now released 18.1 and then to 18.2 beta the update runs OK.
