Next to my Mac.
Ever since upgrading to iPadOS 18, have people noticed the thumbnails in Photos are too small? I wonder if there is a way to make them larger.

Thank you.

There are now 6 zoom levels which is FANTASTIC, as the iPad was always shockingly poor with its two zoom modes before IOS18.

I saw that initially also. In the All view of your Library at the bottom of the screen there is a double arrow icon, one up, one down. Tap on that and you’ll see some options, one of which is View options. Tap on that and you will see zoom options. You can enlarge the thumbnails with that.

Thank you ever so much. It worked! They sure do love to hide things.

So is everyone saying that the icons will be this small now as opposed to before when They were large and I could scroll through them to find what I wanted? And that the only way to make them bigger is to use the zoom option? Stinks if you ask me.

If you pinch and zoom in, they will be the same size next time, not a problem.
What isa problem for me is that it only shows the date under ‘Library’, it used to show the location as well. I know where I took snaps but nor necessarily the exact date.i know I can use the map, but that doesn’t show the date. The way they had it before was very useful for me.

What the hell is this line when browsing thumbnails??? It’s not in any other app on my M2 iPad Pro. Only near the top. Looks like a 1px line

Thanks for the help. Figured out about the view options but the problem I have now is after I zoom in to the size I want if I leave photos for any reason when I return it’s back to the tiny thumbnails. And had to figure out the when adding any photos to my iPad that I needed to switch to sort by recently added in order to actually see the photos with all the others instead of going to recently saved. Why they added all these extra steps just sucks and ruins my work flow.

If you click on the up and down arrows (which you can’t see until you swipe down) you can select the zoom level which then remains as your default.

But it won’t stay as default. Every time I leave photos and then come back the icons are small again and I have to zoom in again. Am I missing something? Is there a way to lock in the 2x zoom to keep my thumbnails that size? Thanks. I have tried pinching to zoom on the thumbnails but when I zoom to five thumbnails, which is what I want, it auto goes to three. Same trying to go back from three it won’t stop at five auto goes back to seven which is too small for me.
