I just installed ios beta 3 to my 2017 ipad pro 10.5 and tried to connect (via lightning to usb 2 original cable from apple) some external usb flash, samsuung ssd t3, and several others disks too.
But ipad keeps saying that it cannot provide enough power ... even on flash drives !

Did anyone else installed ios beta 13 on any ipad with lightning port ?

Can you try to do the same thing and tell us what happens... ?

This is true and a feature/shortcoming of the Lightning connection. You'll have to use the USB dongle with the power input port.

You need this, with power connected: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W2AM/A/lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter
It still may not supply enough power for all devices you want to use, however.

So what can I do, if I buy this adapter and my external disks doesn't work?
Do I have to provide external power somehow?

You could probably work around it with a powered USB hub. (And how many accounts do you have?)

To be honest its not just a Lightning issue, I've tried 4 of my drives on my USB-C iPad Pro 12.9 and find myself having to power most of them, will probably pickup a smaller, lower powered drive thats just for iPad in future.
