Am I safe in assuming that individual apps will need to be updated to interface properly with and take advantage of Quick Notes? I’m not a developer so I apologize if this is a silly question. Take the Kindle app, for example. If someone with the beta swipes up from the lower right while in the Kindle app now, what happens?

Does it work at all - meaning, does a new Quick Note come up you can write in? If so, then when you close Kindle and reopen do you see the Note?

What about a Quick Note being attached only with a particular book within Kindle? Or even better, a particular “page” within a particular book? I’m assuming these would need the app to cooperate in this, right?

Thank you!

Right now, you can use a Quick Note with Kindle. I copied some text and used the Kindle share sheet button. The text was selected and I chose "copy". I pasted it into the Quick Note, which resulted in a URL being displayed in the note. If I click the URL from within the note, I am taken back to the Kindle webpage in Safar with an invitation to sign up. However, my copied text is displayed.

The note does not pop up automatically however. And I think you are correct regarding the questions in your lat paragraph.

So far the only apps I’ve found where the content link can be automatically added when you create a new Quick Note are:

Apple apps:

Safari
Mail
Maps
Books - links to book but not the page
Messages - links to conversation but not the individual message
Podcasts - links to the precise timestamp as well as the episode
News
Photos - links to individual photos but link title is just Recent photos; Albums link with the title; memories, people and places don’t link

3rd party apps:

AirBnB
Redfin
Trulia
Pocket - saves links but with no title or other identifying info.
MLB - team links work correctly; news stories save link title correctly but with generic mlb news URL

And the only app where the note pops again when you return is Safari.

Apple apps which don’t work at the moment:

Contacts
Files
Music
Home
Stocks

3rd party apps which don’t work:

Realtor.com
Zillow
Kindle
Ulysses

DTTG
