iPad Pro iPadOS with LaCie 5tb external?

Just guessing but there’s no way iPad Pro USB-C port has enough juice to power that beast.
With that being said. I fully Expect the 2019 iPad Pro to offer a Full Speed full fledged Thunderbolt 3 port. Which will be a game changer.
So Data transfer speeds via USB-C are just USB 3.0 speeds which are pretty slow Vs. Thunderbolt 3.
 
Somebody on another thread said they had problems getting the Beta to recognise disks over 4TB. You might want to check that out before committing to a purchase.

That is just useless then. Even most usb or sd cards are more than 4gb.
 
I have seen some saying you can connect multiple external hard drives at once through a USB hub.

I think that might have been me. And someone with the same disk said they could get it to work but had to plug something else in to get it to show up.

I personally still haven’t had any luck - but it’s still possible that’s it’s a power issue - though I’m starting to doubt that now.

Regardless - I think it’s still a little buggy, hoping for improvements in future betas.

Yes, you can, as long as you consider an export to be the same as a backup.

Check out the video at around 5.55 which shows them transferring files from photo album to files app and an external drive.
