iPadOS15 Public Beta 5 and NordVPN

Hi,

I've been a NordVPN user for 3 years.
I have a home WiFi network.
I also have an iPhone carrier (different from my home WiFi) to which I tether my Wireless iPads (10.7 and new M1) when out and about.

OK. So, I upgraded my older 10.7 iPadPro to check out iPadOS15. I can still connect to NordVPN via tethering my iPhone. But I cannot connect to NordVPN via my home WiFi.

I just spent 2 hours chatting online with Nord's people and we could not solve this issue. Nord are aware of the issue. iPadOS15 is still in Beta and Nord will be upgrading their app when iPadOS15 is officially released in the Fall.

BUT BE WARNED
If you upgrade to iPadOS15, you may not be able to connect with NordVPN via your home WiFi.
Tethering my iPad running iPadOS15 to my iPhone running iOS14 works fine.

If anyone else has similar issues with NordVPN connectivity after upgrading to iPadOS15, please post here. If you have any solutions, please post here too.

It doesn’t work if you use NordLynx but works fine if you use IKEv2.

Yup. But only tethering. Doesn't connect to my home network. 2 hours chatting with Nord folk. No joy.

Should make no difference whether using tethering vs Home WiFi unless your ISP somehow blocks or restricts IKEv2 but that would be weird.

Only started with 15 Beta 5. All my other devices work fine. Just this one upgraded iPad. So not a network issue. Beta and/or Nord.

Same. Only on the Beta. Other devices not running Beta 5 are fine with both IKEv2 and Lynx.

I've been unable to choose a "Trusted Network" since iOS 15. With the betas, Nord told me to wait until the public release. Now that I have the public 15 and today's Nord update, it still doesn't seem to work. I just filed a new support claim with them.

Lynx was broke for a while on that. It drove me nuts, I never had to tether. Is Lynx still broke?

i am expecting weird things though. For a year or so now, in the App, it will show disconnected, but the VPN is still active, i check DNS LEAK TEST and im still connected to the VPN.

When i try and “re-connect” even though i am connected, it will make me reinstall the VPN profile to settings most times. It happens so frequently ita so annoyin. They (support) have nwver heard of it. But ive been try to explain this to them for the last year or so.


I’ve tried manually connecting and it disconnects as well.
