Gentlepersons,

11“ iPP 2020 running iPadOS 14/14.3-beta3 stopped recognising any USB-C peripherals besides chargers. All peripherals - display adapters, usb-c sticks, Samsung T5 SSD, SD Card Reader - could be used during several month before. Hard resetted, did a factory reset, installed iPadOS 14.3 beta 3, reinstalled oficial 14.2 release, checked all peripherals (they work). Additionally: if a charger is connected, charging through any USB-C cable works only in one orientation ???‍♂️

I’ll contact Apple tomorrow - but maybe someone has some suggestions about what to try?

This is a little confusing. Is the issue that the peripherals don't work under iPadOS 14.3 beta 3? If so and that's the issue you're going to contact Apple Support about, keep in mind Apple most likely will not provide beta software support to you per its Beta Program agreement:

Also because it sounds like you're describing an iPadOS/iOS 14 software issue, and not an iPad hardware issue, the best forum to post in is iOS 14 where there is an iOS 14 beta 3 thread.

IMO if regardless of which cable you use you can only get it to charge when the cable is flipped a certain way that points to an issue with the port either being dirty or faulty. This is an important thing to communicate to tech support and they’re going to want to know if you’ve tested more than one cable to confirm this and that the cables being used are of good quality (so I’d test Apple certified cables or tell them that I’ve tested with Apple cables if I personally felt assured that the cables I have are of good quality and condition).

Seems like a possible hardware issue. Definitely contact Apple tomorrow like you said and bring it to your local Apple Store.

Same thoughts here. Likely a hardware problem.

Best success OP!

Sounds like I misunderstood when OP said after downgrading to 14.2, the peripherals worked. Guess OP meant they worked but not with the iPad Pro. Aha ...
