Does anyone else also have the problem that after pairing the apple pencil the set display timeout of 2 minutes is not working?

I just factory reset my iPad Pro(2018) as new device because the overnight iCloud Backup was not working.

Like the first time, after pairing the pencil the screen stays on indefinitely regardless of what is configured in the preferences. Restarting the device is also not helping.

Had the same issue. Problem was fixed by turning “Tap to wake” off and back on in accessibility settings and restarting device afterwards. So I don’t know if it was the toggling of Tap to wake or the restart, but after this procedure ipad is auto locking again.

Thanks, it's working again.

I checked the iPad console log with my macbook and while the ipad was not going into standby, the mediaservd was going cray, throwing 600 entry every few second.

Perhaps the pencil intro movie when connecting the first time is not closing properly.

Are you sure that it's not because Face ID is detecting your attention?

Yes, this was not attention awareness.

I but it aside and 30 minutes later the screen was still on at full undimmed brightness.
