I'm just wondering if stores other than official Apple stores will have the iPad on the 3rd of April? Places like Apple resellers and Best Buy/other department stores.

I doubt it. Apple wants to create as much hype around the launch as possible, and people aren't going to be lining up at a Best Buy to buy one. And if the rumors about the demand of reservations being too high are true then that would be an even bigger reason to limit it to their own retail channel.
