I have spotted 2 iPad's owned by 2 different customers in the past 3 days at my regular Starbucks haunt (Belmont Shore/Long Beach, CA). I have 2 3G iPad's on order but will not receive mine until Friday, April 30.

Would like to know if any of you owners (or non owners) have also spotted iPad owners at Starbucks?

Oh, one more thing. I confirmed that with the iPad, to use Starbuck's WiFi you must have a Satrbucks card to get 2 hours free per day. Unlike the iPhone which has free WiFi 24/7

Satrbucks card? Weird. I don't need that to use their Wifi (AT&T). It automatically connects in the same way as iPhone. I don't know the time limit because I've never stayed more than 2 hours there. Maybe it's a regional thing? I'm in SF, CA.

I've seen some iPads at local coffee shops. Well it's SF so mac vs pc laptop ratio at cafe is 9:1 to start with. :p

I have an iPhone and an iPod Touch (soon 2 iPads:). With my iPod touch I needed to have a card and had to sign on for WiFi. In fact I watched one of the guys with a WiFi iPad he he had to sign on at my local Starbucks. Believe the AT&T WiFi is looking for a phone number and of course the iPad does not have a phone number. Perhaps I am wrong on this. Do others with WiFi iPad's automatically sign on at Starbucks? btw, my iPhone has always automatically signed on to WiFi.

I have seen only one other person other than myself at a couple of my Starbucks with an iPad.

I also have noted that in the first two weeks iPad was out, I did not get wifi free at Starbucks, like my iPhone does. But then starting on week 3, I DID get free wifi. I think that all iPads may get free wifi, as the 3G will. But the Starbucks routers (powered by AT&T) can't tell the diff between iPad Wifi and iPad 3G.

I haven't been to Starbucks in years..... i don't like coffee!

I haven't seen another iPad out anywhere, my DD attracts attention wherever she uses it. Good thing she is 14 and willing to show people!

So i guess if i want to see one out i need to go to Starbucks huh?

i was just thinking about going down there and getting a coffee and chill with my ipad and see if there are any others there.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

I saw a dude with an iPad.

Section 202 Row 3 seat 16, guy was typing on his ipad at the hockey game...

Think he spent about 40 minutes on it...even during normal play.

What 18 days since wifi launch, and i have had 12 unique ipads access our wifi hotspot in vegas.

How do you use the star bucks card for wifi acces once you're in the store? Is there some sort of code that you activate online?

Nor have I...and I'm in NY. I wondered for a bit if it was probably shame associated with getting the wi-fi instead of the 3G. **shrugs**

...I spent ~2 hours in an :apple: store on 4/9/10 and saw no less than ~50 iPads being sold walking out the door... I was amazed how many people were actually buying them right after the product launch... my iPod touch and whitebook do just fine for my needs... maybe after another upgrade or two I'll feel differently...

In New York I'm starting to see them everywhere. Starbucks, the park, etc. even saw one guy walking down Broadway with one with no case, just pecking away with it.

That, my friends, is how things get stolen. :)
