iphone 1.1.3 to 2.0 upgrade - shall I do it with unlocked iphone not on O2

I have a 1.1.3 iphone which has been unlocked, not by myself, and currently on Vodafone. What do I have to do to upgrade to v 2.0. I have been told that by upgrading my phone it will then become locked. I haven't a clue about locking and jailbreaking etc... so wouldn't be able to any of this myself and am wary of locking my phone by mistake.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

If you upgrade to 2.0 it will lock your phone back up again. My girlfriend did this to her unlocked iPhone and we had to unlock it again after the upgrade.

In a nutshell - NOOOOO !!!!!!!!! (Unless you want to be forced to change to O2 that is)

Upgrade to 1.1.4 by all means, but there is no unlock for 2.0 yet

thanks for the responses. So, how would I go about upgrading to 1.1.4? and would that be ok? my phone won't lock itself by doing this upgrade?

Cheers

there's some good tutorials (with screen shots) on www.iClarified.com

Go for it !

I have a 2G iPhone which I use with a T-mobile SIM in UK. It was unlocked with iLiberty and when I upgraded to 2.0 worked fine with my wife's O2 SIM but not the T-mobile one. I used pwnage to unlock agin and now works with T-mobile.

Good luck.
