iPhone 1.1.5? No! iPhone 2!!! JB?

The next software upgrade is finally V2 to go with the sdk, the beta is released today to developers and to the rest in june.

Do you think they will be able to jailbreak using the beta ready for when the general release come out?

Thats not how i understand it... Beta of 2.0 is shipping to dev's today, to the public in June VIA iTunes Update.

no. the sdk is out today on adc (maybe general public?). the firmware updates will not be until june, no one will ahve their hands on it cept apple as usual. itll be funny when aysim wont work and zibri is screwed, though:D
 
Devs can use the 2.0 Beta if they pay $100 to become an Official iPhone developer. Normal people like us can only play with the SDK and the iPhone Simulator.
 
Yeah devs can pay to get v2 now, im betting certain ppl like devteam will be willing to pay that to jump the gun on jailbreaking this badboy way before june!

No. You're the one who has it wrong. A beta of firmware 2.0 is available to developers today. Go read the press release.

Actually from what little i got to see of the iphone dev center today it seems like all the 100 does is allow people who have the 2.0 beta to try your app

taken from the dev program site. Wether it means you get 2.0 firmware beta or teh framework was in 113 as rumored, though, who knows...
 
Steve is well aware of what the end use can do (unlock, jailbreak etc). I just don't see Apple releasing 2.0 to anyone prior to the June release.

If one person outside Apple gets it, it will be viral.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
 
I'm sure it wont be hard to crack. Just because it has a different name (2.0 instead of 1.1.x) doesnt mean they've changed enough to make it impossible to jailbreak.
 
Here's a question.

Developers can actually make SDK apps right now, but said apps cannot really be released until firmware 2.0 and the iTunes App Store launches since outside of iTunes apps cannot be installed.

Do you think it will be possible for the current homebrew developers to make SDK apps right now and then use jailbreaking to install them, so we don't have to wait for the iTunes App Store and new firmware? :)

native apps require a cert to authenticate (or whatever youd liek to call it) to be able to run on the actual phone, the simulator doesn't need anything. I wondered the same thing, one of the developers i know for macscan tried it out ad there's no way he has found, since the cert are only given/generated(however it will work) with the developer programs, regular and enterprise. Once people start getting them, if there's a way to get the cert info, i'm thinking well be able to toss em on over sftp, but who knows until the time come s:)

btw, just passing on what i have been told from our guy, if hes wrong, to punch him.:p

i believe only the enterprise people get 2.0. the regular get a way to laod it onto the phone and other prerelease software but not the firmware. well know tomorrow or as soon as they start to accept people adn get htem

BTW update onteh cert thing. i copied a program to my 113 jailbroken phone, chmoded it and ran it, it loads but nothing seemed to ahve worked on it at all. it then goes back top spring board about 30 seconds later. gonna go to 114 and see if it'll work. the cert allows it to go ON to the phone, im guessing not to run it. ANyway, off to 114 and see if this works
